ROLE AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
What you will do as a Data Engineer in Companjon

  • Lead the development of our scalable data architecture, integrating diverse data sources and supporting advanced features like AI and ML, while ensuring data integrity, performance, and stability.
  • Enhance data storage, query efficiency, and reliability, collaborating with data scientists and architects on effective data models and warehouses to support business goals.
  • Uphold data governance and security, actively engage with users to maximize data infrastructure utilization, and manage data documentation to foster team innovation and excellence.
  • Develop and coordinate user training programs to enhance data accessibility and usage.
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
What you will need to succeed

  • Relevant third level qualification in a quantitative field, such as computer science, engineering, physics, statistics, or applied mathematics.  
  • Proactive and hands-on experience in advancing activities and driving projects to completion.
  • Ability to solve problems from first principles in greenfield projects.
  • Proven track of experience leading data engineering activity.
  • Foundational understanding of data architecture principles.
  • Experience with programming (Python, SQL) and big data tools: e.g., Databricks  , Spark, etc.
  • Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow, etc.
  • Experience with Azure cloud services.
  • Experience with ML DevOps, including CI/CD pipelines for machine learning models
COMPETENCES / SOFTSKILLS
What we would love to see from you  

  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills, eye for detail, ability to understand & resolve complex issues;
  • Experience working with large data sets and relational databases. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills (ability to analyse situations, identity causes and come up with solutions quickly);
  • Ability to work with multiple deadlines under pressure;
  • Highly motivated and constantly aiming to improve  
  • Fluency in English, other European languages a plus;
  • Start-up mindset- comfortable working in a highly dynamic environment.
