DevOps Engineer

JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking a skilled and experienced DevOps Engineer with a strong background in cloud infrastructure, database administration, and infrastructure as code. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Azure and Oracle Cloud platforms, along with a deep understanding of DevOps practices and automation tools. This position requires a strong foundation in both cloud technologies and database management, and a passion for improving development and operational workflows.

ROLE AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
What you will do as a DevOps Engineer in Companjon 
  • Design, implement, and manage scalable and highly available infrastructure on Azure and Oracle Cloud.
  • Work with development and operations teams to automate and streamline workflows using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, or Ansible.
  • Manage database environments, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, security, and troubleshooting.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and monitoring of applications.
  • Develop and maintain monitoring solutions, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security of cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the stability, performance, and scalability of both cloud infrastructure and databases.
  • Provide support for database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Optimize resource utilization and cost management in cloud environments, ensuring compliance with best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to cloud infrastructure and database systems.
  • Maintain documentation for infrastructure, automation scripts, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure security best practices are followed and work on compliance audits related to infrastructure and databases.
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
What you will need to succeed 
  • 4 - 5 years of experience in a DevOps or Cloud Engineering role.
  • Strong experience with Azure and Oracle Cloud services, including infrastructure provisioning, management, and automation.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, or ARM templates.
  • Strong background in database administration, including installation, tuning, backup and recovery, and performance optimization, with hands-on experience in managing databases such as Oracle and MongoDB.
  • Proficient in automation and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture best practices.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Azure Monitor.
  • Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Experience with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket, etc.).
  • Familiarity with other cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) is a plus.
